Don't like this at all. More police state BS. I don't drink and drive. I shouldn't have to have this crap in my truck. Save this for people who have been convicted of DUIs.

The whole point of this is to preventDUIs. Plus, if you know you're never going to drink and drive, why would you mindit would be implemented in your vehicle?

With a red x....I know it comes off like a police state thing, but it's a good idea. Drunk driving is causing far too many unnecessary deaths, especially of young people.Don't like this at all. should also take away their cars and sell them for profit. LonelynightDrunk drivers can permanently lose their license with enough offenses.

I think you lose driving privileges for a year after the second offense.

This is America. We're supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. Not the other way around.I do not want the government having that degree of control over who is and isn't allowed to drive. That kind of power could easily be abused.Laihendibut you don't even want the government to build roads.

That kind of power could easily be abused.LaihendiThe ability to drive isn't a right, it's a privilege. As for this solution, I think it's pretty stupid as it can be easily gamed. You know what would be better for drunk drivers, autonomous cars. Not only can they drink before they drive, but they can drink while they 'drive' too.
Sounds like it would be too expensive for automakers to include. If the cost of our own breathalyzers are any judge.
Drunk driving is just one of those things we'll never completely get rid of.

This is America. We're supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. Not the other way around. Huh what? The thing is just there to prevent drunk people from driving. Not to be judge, jury and executioner. It's a preventative measure, nothing more to it.You drink your mouth wash? Mouth wash shows up as alcohol.....you don't have to drink it.[QUOTE="DanteSuikoden"]
So I won't be able to use listerine in the morning anymore huh?

It's a preventative measure, nothing more to it.Shottayouth13-Make kevlar vests into regular clothing to "prevent" shooting deaths. Dull all knives to "prevent" accidental finger amputation. Pad all cars with rubber to "prevent" pedestrian death. A nanny state will only continue to suffocate the lives out if it's citizenry as long as they want protection from themselves.

Yes, maybe they should :| But seriously, how would blowing into something suffocate anyone? It won't take 10 seconds to do. Why the fuss?

Right, but this scanner works off the sweat/oil on your finger tip. You would have to injest it to actually get a reading.
