All it would take is a small team of highly trained soldiers and one with a really big sniper.

If Kim Jong Un fires even one artillery round at South Korea they will have the South Korean military, the US military, and anybody else who wants a piece of the action breathing down his neck. They may have got away with the artillery barrage they shot in 2010 at Yeonpyeong, but the world isn't going to sit back forever.

In case anybody thinks China is going to protect him, China makes too much money exporting goods to the US for them to side with North Korea after a preemptive strike. Kim is going to get what's coming to him anyway sooner or later. He needs to look at Gaddafi and see how his people finished him off after he was removed from office.

I'm not saying he'd get away with it
But there's a chance that if he's shot, they might see it as an act of war, and retaliate.

North Korea "purges" 3 generations for something as simple as theft of food.

They're not going to take an assassination attempt (as John F111 is suggesting), lightly.

There is a huge difference between a starving, unarmed North Korean family that doesn't know freedom and the US military which has enough firepower on one Navy supercarrier to blow Pyongyang off the face of the Earth along with South Korea's modern military. If the survivors of an assassination of Kim know what's good for them they would just step aside. Either that or they would be better off suck-starting a pistol if they are looking at being tried for war crimes. The US and South Korea have been jointly planning on what to do against a hostile North Korea for years.

Thats all lies because US is a hypocritical country that would not intervene in North Korea because there is no oil

If there was no oil in Libya, Gaddafi would still be alive fighting and killing rebels and feeding them to dogs too.

So as long Kim kills only his own people, no one going to touch him. just like his father

The oil excuse is getting pretty old. The amount of Iraqi oil powering that Ford Focus driving in front of your house is negligible at best. The single foreign country that gives the US the most oil is Canada and we haven't invaded them yet.

As for us invading North Korea, there are two huge reasons why we aren't going to do it not related to their lack of oil.

First of all, the terrain is much different than Iraq. Seoul is only 35 miles away from the DMZ. If Kim Jong Un decides to get a case of the dumbass and focuses all of his artillery there rather than military targets he could take out thousands of South Korean civilians before a counterattack will take his howitzers out. On the other hand, the Kuwaiti desert below the Iraqi border was mostly deserted, leaving very little collateral damage risk for Kuwaiti citizens.

Second of all, the US won't invade without Seoul's backing. Because of the first point I mentioned they are highly unlikely to approve an invasion and will only agree to fight if attacked first.

The only source they seem to have is a Chinese newspaper, so combined with the utterly ridiculous image of feeding one small man to one hundred and twenty starving dogs, I am not convinced that this is true yet.

I agree with this to the fullest. China is a self-interested state first and foremost. Every state in today's world is but China's economy and its structure make it much more crucial for China to watch its foreign policies and to not make blunders in the name of adherence to a communist ideology. To be honest I don't know in what ways China, or NK for that matter, still claims to be a communist state. In any case the Chinese wouldn't risk their economic relations for a dump of a country like NK or a sociopath of a leader who's a universal joke. The only state China would go to war for, or rather side-by-side with, is Russia maybe, and that's a mere speculation I can't back this claim up. But it makes sense to me. If Russia decides to revive its former glory and get back on the colonial/imperial bandwagon, it can definitely use China's help and the Chinese would expect to have a share of the strategic and economic profits of such ambitions.

Gaddafi was a deranged **** and he got what he deserved. But he didn't come close to being as sociopathic as Kim. At the very least Libyans never starved to death, they actually had decent lives during Gaddafi's reign. With that said and considering how brutal and vicious Libyans' retribution was against their dictator, I'm not sure what more North Koreans can do once the inevitable happens and they topple their tyrant. They'd want to kill him a thousand times but sadly he can only die once and there's only so much suffering his body can take.

Actually, the source claimed it was the uncle and five other officials. Going by that theory, it is reasonable to assume starving them for five days before unleashing them on the uncle and the others would result in the men being nothing but bones. Of course, that is assuming this really happened.

Without further proof of this I wouldn't take the story too seriously. However, I wouldn't put it past him to do it. His father Kim Jong il had a group of generals who tried to assassinate him burned alive in the middle of a stadium in Pyongyang in the 90s. Supposedly Un is worse than il.

Washington post says this is bs. Its sad people take no sources as proof for anything. Funny how every big ridiculous story about DPRK cant be proven in anyway. You know why this is? Its called lying for attention. DPRK is an easy target because people are so programed to hate them they never question anything they hear about it.

Holy shit, wonder what Rodman's got to say about this.

total b.s. which anyone with a weibo account would recognize right away.

do better research - If it sounds too weird to be true then it probably is not true.

this story was invented by a Chinese blogger on the tencent blogging site and it isn't the first "tall tale" about North Korea that has been believed by the west.

this was already picked up on the BBC News, their Chinese Bureau wrote a cautionary blog about being too gullible.
