Story Sad to hear - I began watching Dallas with the new series in 2012 and he was absolutely amazing - one of the best series antagonists ever on screen. He was excellent at what he did. Thankfully, his son in Dallas looks set to take over - I wonder how they'll write this into the story - really hope they don't get a different actor, as there is only one JR Ewing, and that's the one played by Larry Hagman.
