Is it racist to hate the Facebook comments?

Because I kind of hate them. I keep trying to justify my hatred; "they're out of order" / "they lack context" / "they're mostly stupid even though the spelling is okay".

But, in all essence, I think i just don't like them because they're different.

Do you know what the word "racist" means? It has nothing to do with Facebook comments.

Everything is racist/sexist/homophobic these days.

Not even close to what the term racist means....

No, but it makes you a communist

@nait2k4: If by "Facebook Comments" you mean people of some specific race(s), then yes. If not, then no.

why would it be racist...

#8 Posted by 35cent (916 posts) -

Sounds like you don't know what the term "racist" means.

#9 Posted by nait2k4 (79 posts) -

Yeah, I figure racist isn't the correct term. But it's got to be some kind of "ist". The mere sight of a Facebook comment in the comments section of the reviews/articles/videos blah blah sends me into an almost apoplectic rage.

Damn Facebookers, they should go back where they came from.

You might want to get that checked out...

Why?

This.

Everyone's a Pansy *** these days.

#18 Edited by nait2k4 (79 posts) -

@Nibroc420: I'm pretty sure that's pansyist, and victim blaming.

@gamerguru100: Yeah, I was drunk when I made this thread. My apologies.

Troll thread, and a really bad one.

Again, my apologies. It wasn't intended to be a troll thread, more an expression of the frustration caused by the incongruity caused by the facebook comments in the comments sections of articles - of course, the offensive element of the topic was somewhat exacerbated by my state of inebriation.

Getting upset at the mere presence of comments from a particular site is silly.

I find it amusing Facebook comments are even taken seriously at all

I don't think its the presence, so much as it is the fact that LiveFyre cannot seem to put the replies to the comments being replied to, which makes all of the additions out of place and illogical in flow. It really bungs up the whole thread of conversation.

But, yes, in retrospect, it was a silly thing to get upset about. I still wish they'd either get fixed or piss off, though.

Racist was a really bad choice of words even if there was a lack for a better word. Mostly because some OT members will gravitate towards that term and make some random points even if the topic isn't really about that.

How the hell is it racist?

@thegerg: that too.

If you had a major life event, but didn't post a Facebook status about it, did it really happen?

#29 Posted by ForeverNexus (5 posts) -

I hate Facebook comments because of the pure stupidity. Guess I'm racist!

I'm still in trouble for clicking 'like' on someones status about his dead wife - so I don't think I can really offer any insight.

If by "they" you are referring to a specific race of people, then yeah that's racist

The commenting systems are a genuine point of negative concern

Yeah, but you can see the positive aspect of hits vs. pissing off established users. I can't really begrudge GS the facebook invasion, I do have AdBlock turned on.

I was neck deep in tequila one time, too.
