Earphones >>>>>>>> headphones.
I got Bose Triports with my new 80gb video ipod last year. best damn earphones ever.
Thing is, they were not cheap ($100), but you really do get what you pay for. they are great if you like listening to loud music because theyre noise-cancelling too.
The regular Ipod Headphones are fine. Im just glad to have a pair that work right now. I went through about 10 pairs of headphones in the last year and it was starting to piss me off. In-ear ones are cool, i usually find the bass is alot more prominant on in-ear, also the sound on regular ones becomes tinny after awhile. booshdyTinny, that was the word. Yeah, my in-ear ones are a little tinny, but I guess its jus cuz im not used to them,
I have a set of in-ear Sonys - they're decent enough for the price. You can get better, but you have to extend your budget a fair bit and really, we're still talking portable headphones. I can't justify spending over $100 for something that can easily get lost or stolen or damaged.
There are only two big probems with canalphones - they have to seal properly or you won't get any bass, and they pick up any disturbance along the cord. Since everyone's ears are different you may even have to a different size pad for each ear.
I like them because of their size and natural ability to block outside noise.
I also find they fit better if I don't clean my ears as often, since earwax helps seal the rubber. ;)
I hate in ear headphones. They never stay in my ears. I like the ones that clip on my ears.CHAOSWEAV3R
Yeah same here. The earphones don't even fit in my ear
There not foam, their rubbery, and the sound sounds a little more, idk how to say it, kinda empty or something.BrendanBox39
I hate In-ear ones because they break too damn easily. I have a pair of these now.
Not exactly what I expected.
When it comes to sound quality standard headphones win out, but in-ear headphones do have some advantages. One main reason I use in-ear headphones is that they travel really well. I can keep em in my jacket no problem, and they don't mess up my hair any. This is why I tend to use in-ear headphones a lot when I'm on the go.
I like studio headphones more, and they don't cost really that much if you shop in the right places. The problem is taking them anywhere is a pain unless you happen to be using them.
I prefer the huge ear-banger headphones. I have a $50 pair that I use for everything: Listening to music (you get more rich sound, and can hear things that you wouldn't otherwise) Playing games (directional audio ftw!) and practicing on my bass without bothering my parents.blooddemon666Most definitely. Besides for the fact that earbuds don't fit in my ears. :?

Generally speaking you're going to get much better sound quality from headphones than a comparatively priced set of in-ear earbuds, the earbud's drivers are smaller and therefore not able to produce the same level of bass. Also you generally need to spend at least $200-300 to get a quality set of in-ear earbuds (meaning they can produce a good bass level), whereas a good set of headphones will run you just over $100. You're earbuds probably sound off because you don't have them in properly, you really need to jam them in to get the proper tone.
Either way ditch the ipod earbuds and invest in something good (Seinheisser, AKG and Shure are good brand names to look for), you'll be glad you did.
