damn that **** came back again. is it SmithfraudFix or SmitfraudFix without the h? i googled it and it said did you mean SmitfraudFix

Download and install SmithFraudFix, go to start, then your control panel, and in the control panel click the icon that says system...Finally, click the system restore tab when the new window pops up, and turn off system restore for now.

Turn off your computer for about 10 seconds, and turn it back on, continually press F8 and the boot menu will appear. Select Safe Mode with networking. Now once windows comes up, enter Smithfraud and wait for it to load, once it does hit any key to enter. A menu will pop up, select option 2, or if you want to be on the safe side make sure Smithfraud is up to date by pressing option 4 first.

Step 1: Find a hammer

Step 2: Beat your computer into submission

Step 3: Buy a new computer

FUBAR24

Step 4: Rinse and Repeat.

While we're on the topic of things popping up saying that you have viruses, if that happens, but then you click "No, I don't want to buy it" or whatever the other option is, are you good to go? Or did just the fact that the window popped up mean that you're ****ed?

lmao I will never understand this, how nieve are you kids? It really is not hard to avoid viruses and/or get rid of them, I have never gotten a virus on my own pc in its entire lifetime, common scense I guess.

Your best bet is to shut down the browser through the Task Manager. Some of the pages don't even have buttons, even though they may be drawn on there. When you click 'no', or the close button of what looks like a genuine windows app, you're actually clicking a link where trojans and w/e other nasty things are installed on your computer.
So it's just safest to close out the browser instead. If you have Firefox, ask it to start a new session otherwise, it will load the previous page that gave you the nasty pop up to begin with.

 I fell for one of those dialers when I barely started using computers. You know the ones that connect to an uber server with tons of free porn.. but they actually call a remote location. *facepalm* There was a $90 charge on the next phone bill but I was able to get out of it and we didn't have to pay the charge. *win*

His problem is much more severe than that, in that it pops up these false alerts and prompts you to install malware, which is disguised as anti-virus software...If you say no, it will keep popping up, until you really get rid of the source itself.

Ahhh okay. Thanks for the info/advice! Using Task Manager is a good idea, I didn't even think of that.
