The allegedly conservative majority of the house apparently has no problems spending money to push their agenda.Remind me why the president has to negociate in order to pay bills that congress has already incured, but they have zero problems spending money they don't have when it suits them.

The sanctity of marriage was ruined a long time ago, and mostly by straight people.

Hah, good point. Find it so hilarious that there's a "defense of marriage" act when divorce numbers are ridiculously high. Breeders (c Theokhoth) ruined marriage, not homosexuals.

This is like me being on a diet and you b*tching because I snuck half a cake crumb. If this wasn't about gay marriage then no one would give a f *ck.

I'm pretty sure that's not fiscal conservatism...

Goddamnit, the Republicans (or social conservatives actually) need to focus on more important issues such as the economy and foreign policy and stop focusing on social issues. They're NOT going to win on stopping abortion, stopping gays from marrying, and stopping drug use. It's going to be their downfall.

However, I do say that the Republican Party will be friends to the gay community in around 50 years. I mean, if blacks became friends to the Democrats, anything is possible.

It's funny cuz I remember Republicans whining about Obama's new bus claiming that every extra dollar spent is irresponsible. The cost of the bus? 1 million dollars.

It's not not really the amount that bothers me, its the fact that the Federal Government is funding a organization that is actively working against the equal rights of all people, it's 2013 this shouldn't even be a issue.

I highly doubt that most Republicans actually give a sh!t about spending. Republicans branding themselves as fiscally responsible is a sham that too many Americans buy into. It's pretty ridiculous that someone like Paul Ryan was actually seen as a defecit hawk.

None of the fiscal conservatives are bothering with this post because the republican party is undefensible. I litterally can't wait until the democrats hold both legislative bodies and the white house again because we won't have to squander it on attempted healthcare reform and focus on more important things like infrastructure and economic stimulus.

Doesn't matter. Unless they have spending cuts for these 3 million dollars, they are only adding to the deficit.

I remember in the last election, the funding of PBS was a huge ass deal because it "added" to the deficit despite it being only a very, and I mean VERY, small part of it. The hypocrisy never fails to amaze me.

No, the executive branch is supposed to enforce and defendfederal law. The difference is that the level of enforcement and defense isn't specified, ergo no enforcement/defense fulfills that requirement.
