Oh okay. I thought it was because you were thinking it were an impossible feat to achieve or something. :P
I was a smoker for 2 years back when I was 17 til I reached 19. I stopped smoking cold turkey style trying to prove a point to my mom that her smoking habit is a mental thing and that she can quit anytime she wanted to, though to be honest, it was pretty damn tough not to fire one up. I instead started chewing lots of gum to take my focus off of wanting a cigarette and it worked out well!
I only drink alcohol maybe 5 times a year which is usually on my birthday, New Years day, Christmas (Eve and maybe on the actual day), and on someone else birthday if they pester me enough to have a drink with them. Otherwise, I don't drink. However, when I do drink, I make sure I get hammered considering I know I won't be doing it often...
Beyond that, I haven't touched any drugs....
So many squares on OT.
Agreed, personally I've come to realize cigarettes seem hated and labeled as bad bad bad more than they should be, while I do agree its not good to smoke too much (the same can be applied to doing too much/being far too engrossed into pretty much anything) and the smell can be pretty nasty (wish they could make the smell better, and also cut down on toxic chemicals)
However other than that, yeah, smoking I don't think is THAT bad, I mean my grandpa smoked cigars quite a bit for years in his life, and he lived until 89, and died from pretty much Alzheimers, which I believe many people die from even if they haven't smoked their entire lives.
And I'm sure he never Overdosed on cigars, see, all has to do with moderation.
