Do all (at least Christian based cemetaries) face East? For the second coming of Christ? Because my dad was saying not all graves face to the East. Is this true?

come to think of it, the vertical gravestones do face eastward for the several cemeteries in my area, except one, where the gravestones face south not sure why but I bet I can figure it out within 30 seconds with the Google... HERE'S WHY

I am not sure if it is east across the entire world but it is at the very least east in the United States. This reasoning is based upon the notion that when Jesus comes back he is to do so in Jerusalem. It apparently gives a better view for the dead person. While I as a Christian do very much believe that Jesus will come back and resurrect the dead, I am pretty sure it doesn't matter what direction your dead body is facing when it happens.

I suppose they will not be able to enjoy the Christian zombie apocalypse then. But really, I'd argue that it is based more on superstition than "because the Bible says so."

Maybe since the sun rises from the East, the sun shines on the tombstones better and to have some sort of symbolic meaning.
