For those of you who have watched Deathnote...

I have a question. A friend of mine told me that under no circumstances am I to keep watching after "The recap episode"

I asked him why and he just keeps repeating "it will ruin your life." I thought he was joking but he's dead serious. I have marathoned my way through the first 12 episodes in 3 days (would go a lot faster if not for work and life), and I do NOT want to stop before the last episode. Is there some reason to stop after this random "recap" episode? Is it really that bad?

To clarify, I don't trust this kid's opinion, and by "friend" I mean my girlfriend's ex who won't leave me alone for some reason and keeps trying to play Diablo III with me...

That's what I was wondering! He (and even my gf to some extent, but I have a feeling she's just parroting) just keeps repeating that crap, and it's weird considering I am crazy hooked on this show right now... wish it was longer than just 37 episodes as it is!!!!

Death Note is the best anime I have ever watched. Since you seem to really enjoy it, not watching it to the last episode would be a terrible move - there's nothing "bad" about it. On the contrary, it keeps you hooked till the very end.

There's an epilogue like peace for the manga but I had no idea they had a recap for the death note manga.

It follows the plot of the Manga, does a poorer job of establishing new characters/pacing the story, but still worth watching. Your 'friend' is a moron.

Deathnote may be short but ends well and I find shorter animes to be little better. Dont get me wrong I have watched every signle ep of naruto, one piece and bleach.

Watch it all and not really sure what the recap ep is... also feel free checkout the movie.

And if you think deathnote is good PLEASE CHECK OUT Code geass. Its actually one my favorite anime that has some similarities to deathnote.

Death Note is hands down the best anime I have ever seen. You should watch it until the very end, it'll be worth it.

That's a load of hogwash. I've never understood why so many people believed that the anime abolishes itself halfway through. I was not particularly happy with the development of the plot at that point of the anime, but it wasn't too dramatic to me that I would just give up on the anime altogether or think any less of it.

I dont know what these "recap episodes" are, but maybe he's talking about how the series really ends at episode 25. The rest of the show is just some milkage that isnt as good as the Light vs "L" main series. Tho the ending is pretty good, really good actually.

I loved Death Note, I have watched it 4 times in total. But even tho the episodes after episode 25 are not as good and kinda wacky, the ending is really worth it.
