I like a few of their songs, but I've never bought an album. Dave Grohl is a decent drummer, but not a bit fan of his voice.

Are you supposed to like his personality or something? He has a decent voice. Its the music that is appealing, they have their own unique style that appeals to many people. His voice is also very mellow and laid back, which people are happy about other than the other million rag tag bands that are out there.

Overrated means that the person is making samey, crap, music. If any of you think that "It's times like these" is an overrated song, then you have a problem with mainstream music, not the song, because it is considered a classic as it is not only one of the catchiest songs of the last 15 years, but it is one of the most appealing songs as well.

I can see if someone wants to bring up a band that is generic and bland, but you're a little too anti mainstream when you think that the Foo Fighters are overrated.

I defined overrated in general terms, I never said that there isn't any subjectivity involved with it.

For instance many Final Fantasy fans think that the games in the franchise that don't appeal to them are overrated simply because they don't like the particular game. Not liking something or not listening to something doesn't make that particular thing overrated.
