For those who don't know, Firefox 4 has officially released.

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/

I downloaded it, and I think it's amazing. It's very fast. What do you think about it?

Immediately after I installed it, it crashed when I tried to move the buttons around on the menu bar.

NOT A GOOD START!

(It was a 100% fresh install. No add-ons or nothing. No previous versions were on my machine either.)

I went right back to Chrome!

I haven't really noticed any speed improvements, but FF was always fast on this PC. I'm playing with panorama a lot now.

I've been using for a month now. 'Tis good. It's a browser, though, so I don't have that high of expectations.

Been using ChromPlus as my main. I already have Firefox as a secondary. will it update itself next time I fire it up, or is this completely separate?

It depends on your update settings. If you have it set to update automatically, then it will update automatically I presume.

Mind you, I am not entirely sure because the people who were on 3.5.16 obviously didn't want to be upgraded to 3.6.15 and the like.

Yep, I had a squint at my settings and automatic updates are ticked. Hasn't updated to 4, though. I guess I'll have to do it manually. Can't be bothered right now.

Hmm, wonder if this will fix the problem I'm having with gifs.
Using the nightly build (slightly older version) and it grinds to a halt when I view too many gifs (a page full of emoticons, for example)

I dislike how Mozilla simply copied Google by having the URL appear in the bottom left corner when hovering the cursor over a link. Having it appear in the address bar like in the one of the betas was a pretty cool idea in my humble opinion.

They will all be carried to Firefox 4. This isn't a minor update or even just an update, it's a major update so I should have guessed that you need to install Firefox 4 in its entirety.

Oh, I thought you were making a sarcastic jab at Firefox's incompatibility w/ chatzilla. Anyway, FF 4.0 is compatible w/ chatzilla. (I think) Right click on the home button and there should be a drop down menu. Click "customize" and drag the chatzilla icon onto the menu bar. Instant access.

I think it is time to move on, XP came out in 2001. Although you could go straight for Windows 8 in a couple years time and be the true superior race.

My Xp is from 2002. Xp was so well made there is no reason to upgrade to 7. At least not until they've fixed all the bugs.

I'm not a big fan of the way the tabs fill it, but I do like the transparent top. I have Windows 7 and the bottom bar is transparent, so now they match. Overall I'm liking it, but it is going to take me a little bit to get used to.

I keep opening a new window instead of a new tab when I click the links. The switch them around in the little menu that pops up when you right click.

Not awful at all. That's why it's bad that the FF4 beta ran so badly on it. I switched to Chrome afterwards and never looked back.

7 is MUCH better than Xp and I have have had far fewer issues with it than I had with XP. Let go, we're already at SP1 of 7 so any bugs are pretty much fixed.

Awesome, downloading now.

Edit: I like it. Tabs on top keeps me from accidentally clicking a bookmark instead of a tab. App tabs are sorta neat, and tab groups will be nice. Also looks sleek.

Um...just go into privacy and set FireFox so it doesn't remember your history.

Also, Chrome sends all your browsing info back to Mother Google, regardless of whether your incognito or not. This is why I use ChromePlus.
