favorite metal band

I really liked "Children of Decadence", "Bodom Beach Terror" and "Kissing The Shadows". I haven't listened to them in a while, so I can't remember lots of other good songs.

To an extent I'll agree with that. I like some of their songs despite their new album sucking big time. Seeing them kill Sharon Osbourne onstage was probably my favorite moment by them.

Bullets For My Valentine, Avenged SevenFold, and Atreyu are the only metal bands i have and i like them, or atleast i consider them metal.

and the rest of you. are you people freaking serious!? people that wrote avenged sevenfold and bullet for my valentine should not be writing that hear. They are not metal. They are the people that are not good and are posers for metal. they are whiney babies that listened to smash mouth when they were kids and wanna be metal. Im sorry for being rash but I am really into metal and people who make it look bad make me mad. but anyway my favorite metal band is CHILDREN OF BODOM! They are awesome and you guys should check them out. Alexi is on of the most talented people.

Not many people listen to metal at all incomparison to emo and punk that are big nowadays. Trust me metal has its image built up and it wont just fall. The members of good metal bands wont promote the actions of their fans if the frak up metal somehow. anyway metal is so much different from any genre. *most* metal bands are in it for the passion of the music not for how much money they can make. I cant stress it enuf but i kno metal and i know it wont become some little fashion trend. ( there really is no fashion in good metal bands. GWAR and other crap bands do)

Yah, yah, i understand what your saying but metal has already been spun off many times. Thats where bands like bullet for my valentine, avenged sevonfold, and slipknot, and other crappy numetal bands like that. Metal has the strongest fan base easily and i will ove it for all time. anyway thanks for talkin i see where you are coming from.

Finntroll, Lacuna Coil, Dimmu borgir. Those are the top 3 i have listend to lately. But I do not have a favourite. Also Gwar sucks musically, but epic in concert. The new Therion album is good.lycrof

I really hate this whole genre-elitism (and genre-fication) that goes on when talking about music. What difference does it make what genre of music a band is. I just use the general term 'rock' to describe everything I listen to. Some of my favourite bands are HIM, CKY, 69 Eyes, Children of Bodom, Cradle of Filth, Trivium, In Flames, Parkway Drive, I Am Ghost, Killswitch, Incubus, Lamb of God, Bullet for My Valentine, Bleeding Through, Avenged Sevenfold, Escape The Fate, Clutch, Fireball Ministry, The Rasmus, The Sounds, Lacuna Coil, and SO many more, ranging from 'punk' to 'hardcore' to 'metal' (be it nu-metal, death metal, black metal, whatever-metal). Different bands catch me in different ways, so, yeah. I wanna get more CD's by bands like Caliban, 36 Crazyfists, and older Thrice though, so that will expand the collection even further

Definitely Metal: Metallica, Slayer, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Pantera, Sepultura.

Kinda Metal: Tool, NIN, Rammstein, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains.

in no order:

dragonforce, rhapsody of fire and firewind. (i've seen both dragonforce and firewind live : )))) )

and VERY honourabl mentions to dream theater, who i don't personally consider metal, but they are, in my opinion, from a technical point of view, the best band in the world. no-one will ever make me change my mind!!!!!

Pantera and I also listen to Slipknot and System of a Down but yeah I know I'm wrong to listen to them when comes to Gamespot tastes.boyblob

Trust me. When people bash your taste everyday it gets a little irritating and tiresome so I was trying to avoid any more criticism.

I can't believe no one mentioned them yet, but Nevermore is my fav metal band. Jeff Loomis freaking owns and everything about this band is just PERFECT!!!
