You can get that if you were listening to load noises and such before going into a quiet area.

It happens sometimes, usually due to ear damage. If you were listening to loud music or what not thats the little hair like bones breaking... But don't worry you got plenty more where that came from.

I hear it, too. If I focus my attention on it and I hear something else, that other sound seems to be amzingly loud, so I usually ignore it.

Tinnitus just means ringing, and it can be caused by what I explained. Other explanation I could imagine would be an infection.

Some monitors, TVs, and fans can give off a high-pitched screech...get away from those things and see if your ears still ring.

My dad has a monitor that drives me NUTS but nobody else can hear it that I've met. It screechs like crazy and it gets worse when it's not displaying anything (power save mode).

Same here, it's maddening. Had it all my life to my knowledge. I do my best to block it out by listening to something else.

Yea, but I just think that's just the articular disk in my temporomandibular joint rubbing up against the cartilage it shares with my ear.

Yeah, you have Tinnitus. As you can see, it's common and it's nothing serious. I've had it most of my life and it can get annoying at times, especially when I'm trying to sleep. But if I ignore it, it doesn't bother me.

I hear it to but only in complete silence. The ringing starts soft by then little by little the ringing noise increases pitch and gets louder and louder until its the only thing I can hear. After that it becomes muffled like when you go up in a plane and your ears do not pop. Then I can hear my breathing and everything around seems to slow down. In pitch darkness the ringing is faster and I begin to see lots of flashing white dots in front of me and the room even though completely dark begins to brighten and dim consistently. I have a great time sometimes just sitting in the dark its bring a sort of high to me.

I do. I m also lucky enough to have another component added on to my tinnitus, a high senstivity to loudness. I wear earplugs in the car, cannot attend at rock concert, I cannot be within 300 feet of a lawn mower, I cannot ever again wear a pair of headphones. People shouting heart, sound of cars passing hurts, sirens, even far away.

Luckly, its only in my left ear. Lucky me. Even better, the sound does not bother me in silence. I can simply tune it out. Half of the time I don't even hear it. (more like 80%) but its always there if I try to focus on it again.

I don't know, this just used to happen sometimes in a random situation. You guys know what a flashbang is right? Have you been flashed ingame such as Rainbow Six or Counter Strike? You get the '''Biiiip'' Screeching noisy sound while being flashed... Well i don't know if that is normal cause it used to happen to me sometimes, i don't know how and when.. it just appears like out of nowhere.

Any idea?

Sorry for my english spelling (2nd Language)

Yea i get it too. Its just like when a flashbang gets thrown near you. A loud noise bursts and then you have this ringing sound because the hairs in your ears that take in the sound break or something. FlashBangs are Painful even tho nothing physically happens to you

Yes I know exaclty what you guys are talking about. It sounds like some squeeky electic current sound that fades away like 10 seconds later. In fact they replicate that sound in your ear when a grenade goes off right near you in Call of Duty games.

I've had it my whole life, lots of people do, probably at least 8 of 10... No need to see a doctor unless you're paranoid about it :P I hear a silent eeeeeeeee when it's silent. Or if i focus on it. Then again, it could just be the sound of something else, I got good hearing.
