Mmm... love 'em! Just tried Carl's Jr's biscuits and gravy, and while good, it's not nearly as good as homemade, of course. :P

If it's quality gravy, I'll happily indulge myself. If the gravy sucks, I'll still indulge... but I won't be happy.
I like biscuits and gravy but unfortunately I can't eat the gravy. Anytime I eat country gravy I get very sick and I am not quite sure why.tester962Hmm.. corn starch maybe? [QUOTE="Jandurin"]mmm sausage gravy! grats on 60k posts btw, i was too lazy to click your other thread sorry :P Thanks, but I'm glad you went back anyway. :P[QUOTE="spazzx625"]What are those chunks in the picture? :? I've never had anything like that but it looks pretty good. Biscuits are what we call cookies in England and gravy's dark brown stuff AFAIK.jimmyjammer69There's all sorts of gravy. There's your brown beef gravy, there's turkey gravy, and the white gravy here is called country gravy. It's a spiced gravy, with a creamy smoothness. It's pretty good, especially on chicken fried steak.
Biscuits yes. Gravy no. I hate gravy on anything. Even mashed potatoes.ImmortalicaI can't imagine eating mashed potatoes by itself.. :? Do you just use butter then?
Im guessing biscuits has a different meaning the US than t he UK because no way would biscuit go anywhere near gray over here.Big_Bad_SadIndeed it does. Biscuits are not cookies over here....:P
hell yea I love biscuits and gravy, but only if the gravy has some flavor to it, some color!
too many places make "white" gravy; its just flour and butter cooked into a white roux with chicken stock added and lots of pepper.
Gravy needs to be cooked a bit so the roux gets some color, and with meat chunks if its for biscuits and gravy

Some girl just made me that for breakfast this morning. I just moved to North Carolina so I haven't really gotten into the cuisine yet, but biscuits and sausage gravy made me forget about this state's lack of good diners, decent bagels, and taylor ham.wstfldIf you are anywhere near a Biscuit Kitchen......stop in.

British Biscuit
US Biscuit
We callbritish biscuits "cookies" in the US, and the biscuits we eat are more like savory/unsweetened scones in terms of texture and flavor
Sounds and looks like dumplings. We callbritish biscuits "cookies" in the US, and the biscuits we eat are more like savory/unsweetened scones in terms of texture and flavor

Speaking of which, my mom just made those when I went home on leave! The old southern recipe, of course - cook the sausage, then add flour and milk to the sausage grease, then voila! Gravy! Unfortunately, can't eat too much of that, but probably the best breakfast in the U.S.

Yep, there HAS to be sausage in it, preferably HOT! :Dhell yea I love biscuits and gravy, but only if the gravy has some flavor to it, some color!

I have yet to try them. Sounds good though. dave123321Look up a country style restaurant and pay them a visit, They usually make pretty good biscuits and gravy. Or, just get a can of biscuits, a packet of country gravy and some sausage and make it yourself. It's not too hard.
Yeah, it's not something you want every morning, or else you won't be feeling too good. :PSpeaking of which, my mom just made those when I went home on leave!
