If I remember correctly there was more than walking involved in high school.....anyone wanna help me out?
Academically speaking it was a complete waste of my time, I only did it for the damn certificate.
But on more important matters, that's where I met my first and current girlfriend; we've been together 4 and a half years and we're still going strong, I trully believe I have found a soulmate, so in the end high school was the best thing that could have happened to me. :)

I personally thought it was a complete and utter waste of my time. The only worthwhile class for me seemed to be math. All the others classes were just to easy. Hell it wasn't even worth paying attention in history class when all you get is 2-7 pages per topic and more than likely it was well known information anyways. The Civil War section in my highschool history book was literally 4 pages long and most of that was nothing but discussing slavery and nothing else. I expressed my frustration a lot in that class as history is my favorite subject. Thank God for fricken college.

Nice, hope it keeps going well for you.
Anyway, I thought high school was a big waste, really didn't learn much.

Thanks! :)
Everything I needed to get out of the public education system I got from elementary school, except for high level math. Even a good bit of elementary school was a waste of time. Just because some people need to be taught what a proper noun is over and over again every year, doesn't mean I do...

I believe you learn things occasionally... I don't recall ever learning anything. Most of my learning is at home.High school was most definitely for me I remember doing double the work while only learning just about half of what I learned in Middle school, elementary and college, I just remember it being just cramming for tests so I could get to a good college.
I'm in highschool now and I think it's a waste of time, I mean 2 weeks ago I learned about a Leonardo Divinci, how the hell is that going to help me in life? I learn more stuff outside of school than in it.

Those who do not learn from the mistakes of the past are destined to repeat them, mind you Da Vinci didn't really do many mistakes that we know of but still history plays a vital role.
Colleges and high school are only there to steal your money and time by making you take classes that have no real world applications and have no business being in your degree program. You could potentially be ready to work in a trade of your choosing by the time you are 18. Not 25 or 30 depending on what you go to college for. Its a waste of 4 years imo.
The real smart people are home schooled, study their butts off and then skip college all together and go to a trade school, start making real money within 2 years. You ever notice that you dont really use much of anything you learned during 4 years of 6+ hours of learning for 5 days a week for 9 months out of every year? Don't you see a problem with that? lol but they dont care, they take your money anyway :P
No, not really. I actually enjoyed high school a lot. Might be in the minority here, but whatever. I made a lot of friends that still exist 6 years after graduating, and I received a pretty decent education. Certainly had many downs, but the positives outweighed the bad.
College is intended to make you an educated well rounded individual....not just teach a trade. There is a difference. And if one studies the correct field they can and will make more money than the dude from the trade school.Colleges and high school are only there to steal your money and time by making you take classes that have no real world applications and have no business being in your degree program. Not at all. How could I possible be in college without high school? Many of the classes were worthless, but many weren't.
i dont think copying data out of a text book is an education

When it is reading information, copying the information, hearing a lecture on the information, and eventually taking a test on the information it is an education. Some of you kids are so ungrateful these days.
College involves MUCH more walking. :|
But yeah, now that I'm in college, I realize that everything I did in high school that wasn't an AP class (college level) was just a waste of time.
EDIT: I should note that I'm referring specifically to myself regarding the comment above. I didn't retain much of anything from high school outside of college level science and math. It did help build my character and people skills though, which is invaluable.
Yuppers, there are some things that I'm learning that I doubt I have to know in my future. I just want to become some sort of animation artist so I really need English, Math, and Cartoon Animation. As for other subjects I could care less but then again I still need to pass them regardless.
Oh neat, one of the service academies? I came really, really close to going to USNAI went to a Military Academy. It prepared me for quite a lot of what was to come.

High school wasn't bad at all. College was better because you had more control over the classes you took.
No, college is.
You spend thousands of dollars per semester, each year, but at the end, your'e really there just to get laid, get loaded and party like its 1999.
Movies about college life are a poor indication of college...No, college is.

I guess if you go to a terrible high school it can be, though I went to a good high school and rather enjoyed it (outside of the infamous "senioritis" semester). As someone else already stated, you get out of it what you put into it.
High school is what you make of it. If you waste your time there....it will have been a waste. If you learned anything....it was not. Education is never a waste if done properly.LJS9502_basicThis. My high school prepared the students very well for college, and for those of us to were diligent at working hard, we've reached to the extent that the large majority of my high school alumni were the top tier of their class body in their corresponding programs, following our high school graduation.
