Earth is corrupt, broken.
It is a f**ked up place full of f**ked up people doing f**ked up things.

Most kids are drinking, smoking and having sex by the age of 14 and taking class A narcotics by the age of 16, What happened?

I went to my FIVE year old nephews hip hop dance concert thing the other day, and one of the groups was a bunch of little girls covered in makeup wearing tiny skirts who's routine involved doing the BOOTY CLAP like 5 times.
and when i looked around i swear i was the only one who felt awkward for seeing prepubesent little girls shake there butts at us.

What do you mean "What happened"? Until recently, most people were parents by age 16.

Of course, most were dead by 30.

History didn't start in 1950.

Not really. At least I don't have to worry about an outbreak of plague, starving if my groups get wiped out, or having a group of brigands plunder my village.

Nothing new, tjhat's always been happening. If anything kids are getting smarter about the dangers of drugs and smoking these days. Obviously others will defect, it's human nature to be curious about that which we hear so much about yet aren't supposed to 'really' know about (as in use). Previous generations have done horribly in educating their children in these aspects. I don't want children because 1. I don't like children, 2. I'm incredibly irresponsible and 3. I'd rather spend money and time on myself than bloody children, but in the event it happens then I wouldn't bs around with them when it comes to this and other topics that may arise such as sex education. Just bloody explain it to them like rational beings, don't shy away because it's awkward for you or be ignorant because you choose a particular bias.

Somewhat. Fortunately I imagine I won't have to deeply consider such issues for a few years still. On the other hand, a lot of the controversial issues regarding children nowadays were caused by bad parenting, whether intentional (not enough care) or unintentional (good intention but bad decisions).

Sure, but that's mostly because I question my capability to parent a child than because of the outside world.

The world is very discouraging and scary right now. I am terrified to bring any new life into this world. Selfishness, moral depravity, and lack of personal responsibility is rampant.

I am. However, this won't be happening for a while, in my case, so I have plenty of time to figure the issue out. I think it's an issue for just about anyone, though. Rather common.

I don't have any problem with people who don't want kids. That's fine. Worst case, their gene pool ends with them.

Raising a kid, either naturally yours or adopted, will statistically grant you longer life.

He would. He'd actually teach children something beyond "listen to this mainstream channel anchor, that is the truth". But cannot blame him. Wouldn't want children either. Or a wife. Have enough of a headache.

No, but it's not like I really can have that fear in the first place since I'll most likely not have kids of my own. I'll adopt instead.

Most 16 year olds haven't taken any narcotics, and up to 30% of 20 year olds are still virgins.I don't like my generation at all, but lets not start piling problems on here.

I don't know what I want really. I acknowledge the profoundness of bringing life into existence but I also acknowledge my own suffering not only because I happen to be living in a hard place but also because the very notion of being a human being is making me so sad. Its those natural unavoidable things that I'm talking about: making something out of yourself, facing diseases and death, dealing with heartbreaks, coping with the death of a loved one, having to deal with tough decisions that will make you miserable for too long and the likes of them. I always ask myself if I had the choice right now to decide to exist or not to in the first place, what would my choice be? I find that idea of nothingness so relieving. Accordingly, how can I bring a life to existence?

Good, honest post. +1. And if I was given that choice I'd be a goner. But I can't really kill myself either. Too much collateral damage. Will sit this thing out and make the most of it.

Yeah, I know. I quit that whole thing years ago. If there's really an all powerful creator I would hope and imagine he's pragmatic enough to realise some people are living in really sh*t conditions, though.

Don't be so negative. Yes sufferings will come, but they purify us and make us stronger. And remember life also has its joys.
