Now I'm sure by now everybody has played the latest game from this studio, Super Mario Galaxy, so now that SMG is out and it has already sold through 5 million worldwide, what should be next for the team?

First of all I don't think anyone would disagree that they should make a platformer. Second, as much as I would love a direct sequel to Super Mario Galaxy, I think I would love something new just a little more (something new doesn't necessarily mean new characters).

So IMO I feel the next game should be a new Donkey Kong platformer. Not another Country, not a sequel to DK 64 (good game, but way too much collecting), not even a sequel to DK Jungle Beat (possibly the best platformer of last gen)... Just new game that uses the Wii's power, controller, and DK franchise to make something with the same level of quality that made SMG such a great game.

What do you guys think?

A proper Donkey Kong adventure game like DK64 would definitely be the best choice. It's similar to SMG in that you collect the golden bananas the same way as you do with stars in Mario platformers. Seeing as they did this well in SMG, they'd do a hell of a job for a new DK adventure game.

Good question. Whatever it is, I hope that it uses the Wiimote well (not neccessarily a lot, but uses it effectively), and if it's an old series, it should be have some kind of interesting idea that's fully fleshed out (like gravity in Galaxy), and goes along with previous games, maybe taking elements from those previous games but doing something new with it.

I think a Kirby game would be pretty good, and so can a DK game.

If you haven't played Jungle Beat, drop what you're doing and get it.

That's Eiji Aonuma's job... though it would be interesting to see this team's take on the series. Hmmm...

yes! they made Jungle Beat, and that game great. I would love to see a new DK adventure game.

Last thing Koizumi said was that he had "a couple ideas". Now what are those ideas and which one will be approved, we can only guess. :(
