Well thats an annoying thing, I'm not very fond of the new Pokemon. :/. Oh well, thanks everyone who posted. If you want to battle when I get the game just put the details from your game, and I will post mine when I get the game. :)
It won't work. Black version includes Pokemon that weren't available when Soul Silver came out.
It's the same issue that prevents you from trading Pokemon from Red to Gold, or Sapphire to Pearl.

You CAN trade from SoulSilver TO Black/White; just not the other way around. It's not exactly trading either, you have to use the new PokeShifter in B/W and it's a one-way process.
what would happen if u had 2 ds's one with soul siver in and one with pokemon black in and u went to the pokemon center and tryed to trade ? also can u get the old pokemon in the new game?

Time capsule in G/S basically spoofed trading with R/B, you could transfer Pokemon back and forth with R/B like a regular trade, just so long as you didn't bring in new items/moves/pokemon.

Back in the second generation days you could exchange pokemon from G/S/C to R/B/Y. The only requirements for enter the time machine in the second gen games were to not have the new pokemon (152 to whatever was the last pokemon on those days), new items and moves.
