Games made my Nintendo or its second-parties usually don't drop in price for years, and usually only in three special cases: 1. Nintendo decides to implement a 'player's choice' list for that console and lower the price of awarded titles, 2. The game flopped that badly. and 3. It is the end of the console's lifespan.

Also if there is a sort of sale, or something. Rare.

there's no reason to drop the price (which sucks for us) because it most likely still sells decently.

Nintendo rarely drops their prices. Even the games that don't sell well.

You could always Ebay or buy it used from Amazon/Gamestop/Gamecrazy/etc. Or you could wait until Galaxy 2 comes out and see if Nintendo lowers the price then.

You can get it for cheap if you look in the right places, but you're right in that the retail price is still 50 bucks. Hell, Twilight Princess has been out as long as the Wii has, and that is still 50 bucks. Same thing with Mario and Sonic at the Olympics being full price.

So, I'm not surprised.

$40 is cheap for it. I would think it would still be at $50.

Games like that never drop. Same with Pokemon.

I still see Super Mario 64 DS for pretty high prices. Nintendo likes keeping those prices high.

Pfff...You are complaining about SMG when TP is still full price! IDK why it is! It was less acclaimed than SMG, It sold less than SMG...It came out a year before SMG...yet it is more expensive than SMG!

well Warioware Smooth Moves still costs a lot. Twilight Princess still costs a lot. Nintendo's best games usually don't drop in price very fast. I mean, I saw Pikmin for Gamecube the other day at Gamestop for $30 used...

When dealing with Nintendo you need to look for the random sales that show up. Toys R Us had a Metroid and Fire Emblem sale for 50% off once. This week GS has Animal Crossing for $20... you just have to be lucky... I'm still waiting to buy Twilight Princess because I haven't found it for $30 or lower yet. Nintendo is probably the only publisher on the Wii you might have to pay full price for, everyone else is 50% cheaper in 6 months to a year...

Just buy it. It's easily the best game on the system. If anything is worth full price, it's this game.

Well with the recession finally starting to catch up with Nintendo, the Players Choice may soon rear its beautiful head to try and entice people into buying the console when they can get a number of discounted games. But even though there hasn't been a formal price drop and most games dont get those, no matter the console, unless they are an absolute commercial failure. But most places will drop the price on thier own if the game just isn't moving anymore so that they can clear it from thier shelf, I really expect places to try and get rid of it by the end of this year with NSMB Wii coming and Galaxy 2 not far behind.

That's usually what happens with Nintendo games. I'd pay $40. It's Super Mario freaking Galaxy.
