I know there is a very little chance of it happening, but do you think Super Smash Bros. Brawl could turn out to be a hurrendously awful game? Sorry if I spelt hurrendously wrong.

As with any game, yes.
I bet most people problem will be that its not all that differnt than melee.

I was reading about Brawl in GamePro and I thought, "I'm gonna laugh so hard if this game ends up being impossibly bad."

Well the gameplay is going to be slower...So who knows, It'll be depressing if its bad since there won't be another one for a long long long long time. (next console )

That is a good possibility. If you watch any of the videos, the levels are all just the regular three-four platform levels. If you look at that level with Meta Knight's ship, you don't play on the ship itself, just four dumb platforms. Also, if there are any more third-party charcters, the game will be ruined. Smash Bros. isn't about video game characters fighting, it's about Nintendo characters fighting. I wouldn't be surprised if this game flopped

I think it will do just fine, I just hope that they figure out some way to incorperate the wii controllers into the game, and online....yes online would be totally sweet!

WOW! i cant believe someone got the idea the SSBB might suck! i love melee! but i lost my copy somewhere in my attic. I think if they put online on SSBB it could be the Wii's answer to gears of war and resistance! this probably the main game that made me look months for a wii. and with the new characters like Solid Snake and zero-suit samus, and wario......this is gonna be the Wii's killer #1 hit!

I doubt that Nintendo would let this game be a flop. They know better to let this game suck. SSBB is so crucial to the wii that they will test it over and over until they are comfortable with it. Im sure there not gonna pull a Ubisoft with Red Steel and give us a half done game.

If I still play melee to this day (I got it upon release) and brawl is probably going to be similar to melee, then I'll LOVE brawl.

I belive it can turn into a awful game. If it uses the wii-moat for fighting. the SSB series should be played with a gamepad and nothing less.

If this game flops, there a high chance the Wii will be out of my house very quickly, being pleasently replaced by a 360 or PS3.

Not even possible. There's no chance Brawl won't be better than AA worthy. It's just made of win and awesome.

Give it a rest.

Melee got an 8.9, the original got a 7.5. Does that make them terrible? They're probably among the most played games on their respective consoles.

But I guess if Brawl doesn't break a 9 then you'll hate it too.

 i think this game will do bad because wat if theres the same modes and same stuff smae battle styles i would like to see everything new with it like the characters and the levels the modes the fighting styles and thats wat would make this game epic

True. Although this game will probably be better than Melee in every single way, the reviewers will kill this game to no end. 1) No wiimote features. 2) Poor Voice Acting ;) 3) Not enough change from melee 4) Some miniscule flaw that they will pick at I am going to love this game to no end like Melee, but i know it wont be enough for a lot of people.

the game will most likely be impressive (at least according to those who understand the series).  elements of previous games will be implemented.  the game probably will be great.  can't wait for it.  i don't expect much in the realm of updates, but that doesn't bother me much considering the potential implementation of online play....which just gets me giddy.  bring it on!  i want this game and i want it now!:wink:

They only thing Nintendo has said that might make me think this game will turn out bad is when they said "it won't be as fast paced as Melee" (something like that.) I truely hope it isnt much slower or it stays the same speed.

The Smash Bros. series is a real competitive one and I would hate if it got slower. Either way, I'm sure it will be worth the purchase.

It's not a stupid question at all, just because nintendo has a good track record doesn't make them infallible. It's very probable that SSBB flops, and as I stated earlier, I wouldn't be surprised if it did; disappointed, yes, surprised, no.

SSBB wont flop... with how amazing the past 2 games were Brawl is going to be a multi million selling game for sure... Nintendo know how big of a title super smash brothers is, so will make sure it doesnt suck

They need to make the first Super Smash Brothers for the VC. That would be a great game to download. And they only way it may "flop" is the controls. the wii-mote is not good for button mashers like SSBB. maybe they could use the classic controler for it?

its already been confirmed that it will use teh gc controller but it hasnt been confirmed for the wiimote
