Since I first heard about Spore on the PC I've been looking forward it's release. I thought it would be a great addition to my PC games collection but then I heard it was also being released on the DS. Now I'm not sure if perhaps I would prefer it on the DS, after-all it would be great to be able to play it anywhere.

Although I'm leaning to the DS version, I think I would prefer the PC one if the DS version will cut a lot of the PC content out.

If you plan to get it do you want it for your DS or your PC?

They're different games. Spore is the PC game and Spore: Creatures is the spin-off game for the DS.

Edit: I'm definately getting the PC version. The DS game looks a bit basic and ugly.

It does look as though the DS version is watered-down compared to the PC one. It doesn't mean it won't be a fun game but if you have a PC that can run it, you might be better off gettin it for the PC. Then just keep an eye out for a price drop on the DS one or something.

The graphics of spore on the DS don't look as good as the PC version and so then i would get the PC version if you dont have much as hard drive space then i would recommend you get the DS version or your on the go or something and you have an idea of what you want a spore to look like then i would go for the DS if your gonna bring it along with you alot or maybe your away from your computer then get the DS version. If you just wanna play with it if you have a laptop then install spore on that but either that you can just buy spore DS

I was sort of looking forward to this one. But the previews all say "kid friendly", which is a turnoff.

PC game, since the DS one is an entirely different game. They even have different titles.

They're both very different games. You could by both and have unique experiences...I in fact plan on getting both of them when they come out.

I'll end up getting both, but considering the PC one is on a much more powerful platform with much more flexibility, if you get one I'd say shoot for the PC iteration of the series.

No contest. PC version. The DS version may turn out to be fun but it won't be the same experience as the pc version.

PC of course. the DS game isnt really even the same game. if it was they wouldnt have given it a different title.

http://www.gamespot.com/ds/strategy/spore/news.html?sid=6194036&mode=previews

read the first paragraph here. it says the whole game you control only one creature. that means you wont ever get into the civilization stage, much less the glactic stage. dont get me wrong, the DS game should be fun, but from what i can tell its like a minigame compared to PC spore.

I always worry about game crashes and viruses getting on my computer, so I don't buy many games for it because I might now be able to play them because of the computer's problem. If I decide to get it, I'll get it for the DS, because the DS doesn't have system failures or anything like that, and I can play it anywhere.

Very rarely will you find that a DS version of a game will be equal or better than a PC game. If you're concidering either one then I would say the PC version is the obvious choice. I haven't looked up the DS version but there will be 1 of 2 outcomes.

1. The DS will be a watered down version of the same thing with lesser graphics and content (because the DS in on cartridge).

2. The DS version will be a cheap spin off and is completely different from the PC version.

There is only one Spore for the time being and that is on the PC. The Spore Creatures game for the DS has not been generating the hype. That has been created by the PC Spore.
