i heard you can use a sd card in your wii (i havent bought one yet but i may buy one soon). i was wondering:

  • is there certain cards that can only be read or can any sd card be read
  • is there a maximum storage capacity that can be read by the wii (i want to buy an 8 gb card)

thanks

2 gigs as the manual instructs. Also micro SD cards can be used with the adapter. It should be noted that SD cards do have quality issues. You get what you pay for in other words. The wii branded ones are sold by retailers. There is an accesory that has a controller glove which seperatly sells for about ten dollars, 512 mb SD card and some other stuff depending upon the package. What the controller glove does is keep grime off the wiimote and provide a much better grip over all since it negates the sweat oils from the hands. Only issue is putting it on and taking it off but to remove the batteries i just take it halfway off. Be carefull when putting it on don't want it to rip.

its not really a rule. the wii's mobo can only handle the 2gb. its the same with pc mobo's they can only handle up to a certain amount of storage on a harddrive and only a certain amount of ram etc.
