Promotion of SMG in Toys R us.. no true?

Well, most of us read about this one..

25US$ gift card when getting SMG

So, I went to Toys R Us today and is one of teh following:

1. This is not true

or

2. It would start working on the day of release, because noone knows anything about it.

Which bring me to a lil question... If i reserve SMG (get the coin promotion) when i go to the store and actually buy it, would i get the 25US$ gift card??? That is how it works? Because if is buying teh game without the preorder that would be a hard one to get :P

Has anyone use this promtion?

i guess that bc everyone is giving promotion Toys R Us wanted to... but is strange that noone an di mean NOONE in the stores knows about it...

so i do not know how it works...

I'm really skeptical of this promotion. If they were giving away $25 for some crappy game, or a big bundle, I'd be more inclined to believe it. Super Mario Galaxy doesn't really need promotions to sell itself.aransom

Yeah, I see what you mean. Although Target was givin' out 5 dollar gift cards when you bought COD4, which is a very solid AAA game...

So who knows anymore. Haha.

My brother-in-law works at a Toy's R Us, and he told me about it. He said that you get the gift card when you actually purchase the game.beachball417

but i do not get if it would apply if i reserved the game and then buy it..

or is just for tose that buy the game without reserving

You don't have to reserve but you risk the game selling out.

Dude, the deal is for real! I went to Toys R us to shed some light on this deal and the store director even told me so, I will get the lame coin and the $25 gift card when the game arrives on launch day.

toys r us had a promotion for madden: buy madden and get another game half off. so i bought madden and bioshock, both games that just came out and highly anticipated, for $90.

since they did this in the past i can see them doing this promotional deal for SMG.

apparently at toys r us if you reserve you get the coin and when you actually buy it on tuesday you get the 25US$ card :)
