I have mine above the TV. I never found it to work as well when it was below the tv, for me. I'm going to get the wireless sensor bar so I can move it around more, as needed.
Imma shake things up, mine's isn't abover or below, I have my PS3 set up vertically next to my TV and my sensor bar sits on top of the PS3 at a perpendicular angle in refernece to the TV because I don't game directly in front of my tv, I sit at an angle. So my answer in the non poll is neither or middle :)
Below but I said it was above because My tv is up so high and my Sensor bar is up so high aswell that If I say below my tv I would have to put my arm so far above my head for it to even read.
