Pokemon Conquest Hype Thread (OUT NOW in the US)

WHERE'S THE HYPE?!?!!!?

Currently sitting at an 82 on Metacritic, Pokemon Conquest looks to be what most Pokemon spin offs have failed to be in the past: great. Don't be fooled by the fact that this isn't your usual Pokemon RPG collectathon (or breedathon for you competitive battlers), this game is the real deal, and it's a shame that it's being overlooked. Who would have thought something like that would ever have been said about a Pokemon game anyway?

Why be hyped you ask?

First off, it's Pokemon. That alone warrants taking a look. Second, it's a collision course with one of the oldest series in gaming in Nobunaga's Ambition. What you end up with is an SRPG with Pokemon style, meaning high replayability and no chance of a social life once you pick this one up.

But don't take my word for it, here's some snippets from some of the reviews.

Augh! I preordered mine so long ago I forgot that it was released today. Going to have to head out to Gamestop in a minute. Glad this thread was made.

Edit: Hmmm...just called Gamestop and they said it will not be released until tomorrow?

I've been to Walmart, Gamestop, AND Bestbuy, all of them told me they won't have it in stock until tomorrow.

How peculiar...

Every website I go to has June 18th as the release date. Even the official Pokemon Conquest website says that it's available in stores.

But in all seriousness, the only game store in my town doesn't even have it today yet. Needless to say, I'm annoyed as well after having made two trips.

It looks interesting especially the strategizing part but it looks like it could get boring quick,be too easy, and be waaay to short.

It just doesn't look like a $35 game:?

Yeah I've got it as of yesterday and I will probably be playing it soon. It looks pretty sweet, and from what I'm expecting the gameplay should be fun.

If this game was for the 3DS and released in Europe I would buy it.

So how is everyone enjoying the game so far? I've been playing for a few hours now and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I'm looking forward to getting a little further in the game so I have more freedom so I can reallt start experimenting with some full teams and get a good variety of Pokemon. Not to mention evolving the ones I have so they can actually do some damage. :P
