North American Xenoblade Buyers Thoughts

I recently picked up my copy of Xenoblade Chronicles and am eagerly waiting to play it. I figured that since this is a rather large Wii game release, I would see what people think of the game so far. Thanks for reading and any replies are greatly appreciated.

I imported it, and it's seriously THE definitive Wii game for me.

I know Monolith is working on a Wii U project, I imagine you will get your fix for that there.

I'm only 2-3 hours into the game and i like it a lot so far. I'm biting off more than I can chew by taking every single quest and trying to collect every collectible!

8 hours in and im beyond hooked! This is the best RPG of the Generation in my opinion (So far)

Five hours in and the game is already surprisingly epic. One thing I've noticed is that I don't even really seem to notice time passing while playing. That's how you know it's good. :P

Picked it up yesterday and have only had time to play for about an hour. Left a good first impression and I can't wait until I have time to play more of it. Unfortunately, that won't be for another 2 weeks; final papers/assignments are due and exams are coming up real fast.

I love how massive it is and exploring. The music is terrific. Loving the combat since I don't have to mash the button if I want to perform the basic attack over and over. I can see myself ignoring the gem crafting. I think I hate the jump button most of all.OreoMilkshake

Three hours in and im not even past the part where you have to go to the ruins. Its great fun so far.

About how long does it take to beat the main story?

gah! Im so conflicted about it! I really want to start playing it but I also want to finish Tales of Graces f which I think Im almost done with, and finish the Game of Thrones blu rays!

But from the 30 minutes I did play it im digging it. The designs are great and I LOVE the music, and the battle system isnt as complicated as I thought it would be from the previews.

That's the only thing preventing me from buying it right now. I just don't know rather I'll be able to enjoy the combat portion of the game or not based on the videos I've seen...

Good game so far about 3 hours in. The battle system is good, and its massive! Great purchase to keep some life in the wii.

I imported as well and feel the same way. Of course, I'm a little bias towards RPGs. =)

Great to hear that most people have positive first impressions.

I only played through the intro and into the first town. I'm currently playing a game of much shorter length, so I want to finish it first before really embarking upon the massive quest of Xenosaga.

It's amazing. All I've done is explore so far :P. Sadly to say though, my Wii is now broken (least the Wii part is, it won't play Wii games anymore :cry:).

Oh and I love the jump button :lol:, it's just so funny!

Depending on your playstyle: 50-100 hours

It's my favorite or second favorite Wii game (can't decide between it and Skyward Sword).

My thoughts are simply that Gamestop tried to screw me over on the art book, but the first two hours are simply amazing. I am having as much fun with this as I had with Skyward Sword.

im liking it so far. the story is typical jrpg melodrama fluff, but the voice actors actually sound like people so its not as grating as usual. i suppose im also a little disappointed after hearing the developers intended to rely less on cutscenes (id hate to see how long winded it would be if they really embraced them), but i didnt get the game to soak in the teen drama. i normally hate tutorial sections, but xenoblade doesnt feel like its holding back any of the good stuff. the overworld parts are still vast and there is no shortage of systems to dig into. im excited to see how things turn out when the game really opens up.

Great game. something that reall impresses me is the size... this would be a big game on the 360 or PS3 and the devs made it so the game runs as smooth as can be, there's virtually no loading time and no glitches. An impressive technical feat and a great game all around.

I had about 61 hours exactly, but the first few areas I did ALL the side quests, I could have easily cut it down to about 52 for those who just want to speed through it, I spend quite a few hours just staring at the scenery and finding secret areas :P
