Professor Layton. I've not played many DS games, and the ones I have have already been mentioned.

Zelda is definitely an enjoyable game, though it might not give you the length you're after (it's in the 15-25 hour range, I'd say.) The revamped Final Fantasy 4 comes out on Monday, so if Zelda really does strike you but you want a game that might last you a while after beating, those two wouldcome highly recommended. I also have heard The World Ends With You is pretty outstanding, though I have yet to play it. Don't forget about your strategy game options as well, such as Final Fantasy Tactics or Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings, and the always fun and fairly lengthy Advance Wars (I'm playing Dual Strike right now and it's a blast.) You also have the options of the Castlevania games, they both offer a good amount of content if you're up for some action/adventure platform-style gaming. I'm sorry if I got your head spinning even more with multiple suggestions, but you really can't go wrong with any of those games, they're all well worth the time...

New Super Mario Bros., Worms Open Warfare 2, or coming out later; Kirby Super Star Ultra DS, and if you're into zelda get the zelda on ds. Also if GTA DS is 3-D it might interest you.

Mario kart will last you a long while as long as you're online. Pokemon is also a pretty safe bet. If you like RPG's and a challenge, maybe pick up etrian oddyssey?
