What would you rename it?
I'd change it to the Nintendo RevolUtion. Since it'd be an homage to the Wii's original name at the time and it'd seperate itself from the Wii.

The UNES Ultra/Uber Nintendo Entertainment System
The N64 was going to be called the Ultra64 and NES because it is an homage to Nintendo's 1st two worldwide consoles.
Or Super Wii. :PSeeing it from Nintendo's perspective, Wii 2 (as boring as it sounds) would have been the correct branding decision.

It is sad that they have to do this...Wii U is crap & lazy name. So much for riding on the success of Wii. Their marketing team needs to be fired. :p
Nintendo Givemesomedamngames. Ok ok... Nintendo AnythingbuttheWiiU. Grrrrghh... being serious is hard. One last try. Nintendo Oopswespenttoomuchmoneyonthetabletinsteadof puttingitinthehardwarelikeanydecentnextgenerationconsolemanufacturer. BAH! Screw it, I can't do it.
Nintendo HomeboyThat's a cute idea.Â
We already got Gameboy for portables so why not Homeboy for Home Consoles?nini200
Nintendo's Super Fantastic Console To Dominate All Consoles Ever.
Who wouldn't buy something with that name?
I'd rebrand it this summer after a price drop as the Nintendo U. A minor change and only 3 million users would have a chance of being confused.
Ideally before they named it Wii U I'd call it the Ultimate Nintendo Entertainment System.
I don't think it would be much confusion I think most of the users on Wii U are core gamers that played Nintendo systems for atleast 10 years so I don't think they would be confused.I'd rebrand it this summer after a price drop as the Nintendo U. That is just based on what I read about a lot of the users in their profile. Most of the people I see are in their 20s.
Y'know, they could simply market it as a Wii 2, then in ads turn the 2 sideways and highlight the U shape in the number,...
working somewhere that sells wii u's, i call it the wii 2 instead because the average consumer is stupid.
