Do you always wait until the light turns red to charge it? I usually do but if it's storming outside I usually charge it up no matter how much juice is left in the battery so I'll have something to do if the lights go out for a while.

Also do you play with your DS plugged in at home or just drain/recharge the battery no matter where you are?

I generally just play it with it plugged in all the time. If not, the moment I see the red light I plug it in. Lithium ion batteries ftw.

Whenver it goes red. Lithium Ion Batteries aren't designed to be totally drained, they are used best when charged while there is still a slight charge left :)

I play my DS until it blinked with red light, then I recharged it. If I did not finish to play any game including RPG, then I played and recharged until I finished it for saving its data.

I charge it while I'm sleeping so that when I go out the next day, it will last for every time I want to use it.

I usually charge it when it's red, usually 2 to 3 times a week, sometimes only once on a busy week when I don't get to play my DS much.

I usually wait till it's red, but if I think I played a lot and it's still green I charge anyway. Usually charge it every 2 days.

Not really, everyone's battery is pretty much the same. Depends how you use your DS (i.e. brightness and volume), and how long you play it for.

I always wait until the red light comes on. And I play while it is charging. Mine is a PHAT DS and seems to need it only 2-3 times a week.

When the light turns red.

The battery can only be charged a certain number of times (don't know if you should care about it or not, though). Correct me if I'm wrong, but one charge = minus one time the battery can be charged. If true, charging only when you really need to would be the most strategic thing to do, so you don't waste the times the battery can be charged.

I need to charge it about once every 2 days. I wait for it to go red and I plug it in while it's still on Also I'm always on it (8 hours a day) at lowest brightness

Don't know if it's to do with charging, but I do believe the battery is supposed to be less effective over time.

Most of the time, I stop playing when it turns red, and leave it on until it completely dies (I heard it is better for the battery).

I never charge it when it is green.

I heard that too, but I don't care, the only time I let the battery go out completely was when I was testing to see how long the red light lasted. (I got 1 hour)

Usually I wait until it's red but it varies...sometimes I leave it plugged in for a few weeks. I don't really take my DS around all that much so I don't see the red light all that often.

Every other day. Unless I'm doing something important in a game, I play it 'till it dies.

You might wanna put some weight behind that. Because everyone including credible sources touts the main advantage to Li+ batteries is that they have no sort of "memory" in them, regardless of when you charge them it should have no more than a negligible impact on the batteries total life time and capacity.

That's true. I think for the DS battery after about 700 charges, the battery doesn't stay charged as long.

There supposedly are some third-party batteries that last longer than the official Nintendo battery, but they are not recommended, first because it will null your DS warranty. Second, there is no way to know if the battery will work properly or if it will eventually break your DS.

If I am sure that I have played 2 hours + I play with it plugged. This way, it almost never goes red. I also charge it the night before I go somewhere, like skiing...

Every few days, depends how often I use it.
