I got my wii at a flea market with a whole mess of games the april after it came out. I paid fifteen dollars over retail but I didn't really mind I got one before a whole bunch of my friends. ( at least 2 months) So how did you get yours?
I got it from a store, about 2 weeks after launch. Was planning on getting it on launchday but the lines were just too long everywhere and when I called some stores the day after I got a nice 'sorry, we're sold out' from all of them.
Luckily I know a guy who works at Dixons. Two weeks after launch they would get a second shipment of around 20 Wii's, and although they were all pre ordered already, he put me in front of all those people; number one on the list. :)
I can not vote because you forgot to put GIFT. My mom got mine at launch and I got it on that christmas. I'm on my third one though. Great service they have I must admit.
I got information that Zellers, Toys R' Us and BestBuy would receive new shipments of Wiis last Friday night, and they would be on sale on Saturday morning. So I was lining up in front of Zellers long before the store opened...:?
Saved up money from mowing yards and then called about 20 stores and finally found one at Circuit City, rushed oover in the car and got there just in time.
Got mine in Game a couple of hours after it opened on launch day, luckily I missed the crowds :) apparently they were very busy as soon as they opened lol
None of those categories. I livd in Europ and i was trying to get an american wii, and there were only 2 in my area. I won it in a lottery with over 5,000 people participating :)
I checked store after store after store and got tired of it because I'm 33 and have a life. S, I emailed Nintendo more or less to vent my frustrations not thinking anything would come of it. Lo and behold, I received a real email from a live person asking me to call to discuss the situation. I did and they offered to make a "special excpetion" and sold me one directly. I've had it for 2 weeks now and love it! All my friends couldn't believe I got one from Nintendo.
Couldn't find it in the US. So I went to Puerto Vallarta for the summer and saw it at a store. Cost me $400. came with RE4 and Classic controller. I don't regret paying $400 since IMO its worth it.
i got my wii from a videogames store here very close to the neighboorhood i live.i managed to find it a day before it officially reliazed here in europe and i took it from the first moment i saw it.i took twilight princess with it too.
two months after lauch, i got out of my bed, threw a robe on over my pajamas, hopped in my car and drove to eb. i waited in the store for about 3 hours playing the lost planet demo, and i was the first one to get it. what sucked was that some lady came in with her baby, who was second after me. then she left, 6 other people came in, then the baby lady came back in and we only got 6 wiis, she was concidered 7th
I walked into Best Buy on launch day around 1:00pm. I wasn't expecting anything, but boy did I get lucky! Turns out 2 people didn't show up to get their systems and they can only hold them for so long. I got the Wii, Zelda, and Rayman; first time I ever got a system on launch day so that was pretty sweet!

i got my 2nd while looking in the electronics section at walmart , i picked it up just in case what happened to my first gc happened to my wii i wont go to that a tthis moment but i will say this my first gc had disc problems on the very 2nd day after i got it,, and if gc were like the wii i would have most likely not had a gc
