Approaching noon on April 29th 2007, I was headed to Best Buy to purchase my 360 Elite (I already had a Premium, but I wanted HDMI for the HDTV). Walked into Best Buy, that had been open for only 40 or so minutes, and asked the sales clerk in the video game section if they had any Elites. She replied with a "No", so I asked if they had any Wiis in stock, also a "No."
So, I figured I was at the mall anyway, why not check Software Etc. There's a bit of a line, so I figure that they can't be out of Elites already I'll just wait in line....That's when I notice the line. Couple and a child, Couple and two children, Mother and a child.....
I tap the woman in front of me and ask, "What are you in line for ma'am?" and she says, "Oh, I'm going to buy the Nintendo Wii. The store has 15 or so in stock."
So, I call my bank and transfer some money from my Savings to Checking account. Another lady comes up and tells the lady in front of me that she'll definitely have a chance to purchase a Wii from what she saw behind the counter. Kids, Moms, Dads, all make their purchases and it's finally my turn at the counter. So I ask if they have any Elites in stock. Yep. "One Wii with Twilight Princess(wife's game) and an Xbox 360 Elite Please."
And that's how I got my Wii, it's currently nestled between my PS3 and Elite; like a gaming console Oreo. :)
Off ebayBubbyJelloyah i did the same, and wound up with a good deal, cant beat 50 bucks under retail. i wish i was more hard core, and waited in line. what can i Say i am not that devoted
