How did you choose your mains in Brawl?

I was just wondering how you all ended up picking who you play as in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

I choose characters based on my favourite games and get good with them.

I like the characters, basically. I suck at the game either way, so it doesn't exactly help much if the fighter is supposedly good. :P

i choose my favourites, they just happened to be top tier

Link is my favorite game character of all time so I chose him, but I also play with Pit because I like his design and moveset. Whats funny about Brawl though is I decided to play it today for the first time in a while and I went into spectator mode watched a match and then for laughs went into basic brawl. I have never had a basic brawl match, and I've had the game since launch day, it has never once found a match. And after a couple of secs I got an opponent and had my first ever non friend match with next to know lag. I won in sudden death by luck lol.

If they are a character I like and from a series i like.

I love the Legend of Zelda, and can use Zelda (not sheik) and Link very well.

I use Mario because I like the Mario series.

Ike is a character I like and I like Fire Emblem, so I use him. same with Marth

well for a long time I played with young link (back with SSBM) because he was essentially a faster more agile version of Link who happens to be my favorite Nintendo character. However I happened to hear that if you were able to master him that Ness could be a real monster of a character so I switched over to Ness and after about three months I had him mastered (I had a lot more timee back in highschool).

Anyways that is how I came to picking ness as my main character in what is now Brawl.

I use the ones I'm most comfortable with out of my favorites. If I don't like the character, I don't use him/her.

i'm good with all zelda characters except zelda herself
for some reason.......

"this guy's awesome, and i play pretty well with him. i enjoy fighting as him. HE'S MY MAIN NOW!" that's how i do.

even though for the 2348723 past times i played brawl, i just put everything on random and enjoy.

I mained the characters I have the most fun with playing. In my case they were Yoshi and Diddy. I don't really care about tiers.

I took some time to familiarize myself with the characters when I first got the game, although leaning towards my Melee mains. However, R.O.B. played so well under me that I decided to make it my main.

I've been using Link since the first Smash Bros. and tend to beat my friends while using him (they tend to use Ike and Kirby). Though I always thought that fox could be good if he was a tad slower/ easier to control. And then Wolf proved my theory.

I use Kirby, Bowser, and Snake, cause i'm good with them. I use the Pokemon trainer cause i like the variety of moves.

Not a big fan of tiers, because the character is as only as good as the player controlling them. That said, I do like playing Ike and Bowser a lot.hiphops_savior

That's precisely it my friend! MMMMM Pikmin. Pikmin is Miyamoto's last video game franchise masterpiece to go along with the likes of Mario and Zelda IMO! If only more people would play the gamesto find this out.

I was already planning to use MK even if he was bad(lucky me he's not:P) and mr g&w because its funny to play with him.

I use character's I'm good with, and that I like. I tried all the ones I'd think I like, and cut it down to two that I'm really good with, Olimar and Lucas. I do change from time to time to mix things up with Marth and Toon Link, but the other two are my most used.

I choose my favorites based on how much I like the characters.

Brawl- Link and Sonic.

Melee- Link

N64- Link, Ness, Pikachu

I don't believe in Tiers whatsoever.

I usually keep changing my character after each of my battles. other than that It's because I'm good with them.

Kirby/Ness/C. Falcon were my mains in the first Smash - (Kirby being my best)

Played some Kirby and Mario in Melee, but found out that my true beastly character was Roy. To my dismay my good friend Roy was removed in Brawl.

Now in Brawl I use practically everybody. I'm especially good, however, with Marth, DK, PKMN Trainer, Rob, Luigi, G&W, Kirby...but my absolute best in Brawl is good ol' Olimar. When I first played him, I felt his eccentric fighting type wasn't worth giving a chance. But when I actually gave him some time, he ended up being my absolute best guy!

I'm not a big fan of the Mother series and I also know that Ness and Lucas are low on the tiers but I just love their moveset. PK Thunder, Ness's Yo-yo, Lucas's up and down smash, they're such fun attacks to use that I simply find myself playing as them the most and therefore I become the best with them.
