Help!- DS light comes on and goes off when charging, but ds switches on normally

Hi, my ds lite is 3yrs. old, and a new problem has started. When i charge my ds, the orange light comes on and goes off after a second. when i swithc off and switch on the wall outlet, the light comes on and goes off again (the charger is in the same position- i dont touch it- so we can assume it is not a lose contact). however, the ds lite switches on and plays normally. pleasxe help me. is it a problem with the ds lite, the charger, or the wall outlet. pls. note that this problem has emerged recently. i have successfully charged my dsw using the same wall outlet for 20 minute intervals twice ( i have shifetd house).

I would assume it's because of the charger, buy a new one and test it because they are cheap. Buy one at gamestop.
