I thought it would be interesting to see how common Wii problems were among a group of real people. If your Wii was broken please say what was wrong with it.
First one i got over heated from WC24, the GPU or w/e got fried. I had that one at December 2006. Second Wii I got around March 2007, it had a defective disc drive, it was unbearably loud. Third Wii I've had since July 2007 - Present. Its doing well. lol.
At launch retail demo units were mixed into the general public. These consoles were never meant to be sold and were to be updated by disk. When they were updated online it caused the systems to brick.
Then you have the infamous heatsink problem where a certain line of consoles all had the heatsink place off center which lead to a number of them overheating (this is the problem that people who don't know any better say it's from WiiConnect24)
Optical drive failure. Older model don't pick up dual layer disks that well.
Then you have things like bearings in the fan wearing out prematurely and the video shorting out
Well, we were having a problem with SSBB. Then we found the update that came on the disc. But after we updated it some other games wouldn't work. But our Wii has never actually BROKEN completely before.
Sadly, mine has had problems. My first Wii couldn't connect to internet so I got a new one, and My Super Smash Bros Brawl game didn't work after a month i bought it so i had to send it to Nintendo with my Wii, and recently I was playing with the gamecube remote and someone trips on it when they pass by and it fell about 1 foot down and the the top of the Wii where the gamecube slot is the flap thing broke and we fixed it with crazy glue and it works fine luckly but I take good care of my Wii but somehow it can never stay safe and it irritates me soooo much when something bad happens to it:evil:
Are slight blips in Wavebird connectivity usually the 3 year old controller's fault or the Wii's fault? I never experienced it until Mario Kart Wii, now it happens in VC, GC, and Wii games.
It seems that I have a unique problem. The first GameCube memory card slot in my Wii is broken. On some games it doesn't matter because you can save to the second slot, but on others like Mario Kart DD you can only save to the first slot. I have a work order out from Nintendo but I haven't sent it to them yet. Anyone heard of this problem or is it just me?
