For the people who don't have Professor Layton And The Curious Village, you need to get it. It's a MUST HAVE. It's brilliant. PERIOD.

And as for the people that do own the game, I would like to know your opinion.

DON'T PUSH YOUR DOGMATIC VIEWS ON ME, LAYTONITE!

This is a tad strong. I am a little "Curious" about this game, so I may give it a shot.

I dunno, I own a DS, a Wii and a 360 and there's a lot of great games I still don't have for those consoles. As good as this game may be I realistically doubt I'll be buying it.

i'd like to try it, but im too much of a scrooge to shell out $40 for puzzles, even if they are good.

about how long is it anyway?

I didn't like the idea of spending $37 on it either but I did and have no regrets. It's well worth it. I don't know how long, since I haven't beaten it yet. But i've only completed about 30 puzzles in 6 hours.

I picked it up this past weekend and the puzzles are brilliant. The entire game is spot on... just don't waste your hint coins. GET THIS GAME!

Too bad I can't. I pre-ordered TWEWY and Summon Night Twin Age of which both are excellent RPGs on the DS. RPGs FTW!

Yeah it is a great game. And some reason I find it "Fun" to repeatedly get the almost impossible questions wrong.

I just finished it this afternoon and its very good. For those of you on the fence, its not just a lots of puzzles, its the perfect amount, combined with a point and click style adventure, with a compelling storyline and awesome cutscenes. And downloadable content.

Although it's a good game I'd suggest if you're looking to save some money wait on this one. Eventually there will be tons cheap of used copies just like LOZ:Phantom Hourglass, and elite beat agents.

I have it. It's absolutely fantastic. It's one of the few games I can name this generation that requires players to use their brain instead of first person shooting while also makeing it deceptively seem like a game many gamers have grown familiar with (Point and click adventure). I also like the art style and the cutscenes, they seem to have a form of nostalgia factor, and I think the music isn't too bad either. I guess the review on gamespot was talking about the fact that the accordian is used for pretty much the whole game, but I think it fits the atmosphere. I heard there are sequels to this game, I hope they make it to the U.S. as well. 9.5/10

Well, I would like it because the puzzles sound really interesting and challenging, but I don't know about the replay value of it. I almost always pay attention to if the replay value in any game is good...

It was fun but I was able to beat it in 1 day. I guess that's probably because I really liked it. It took me 9 hours though.

Professor Layton is a great game, and every DS owner should purchase it. However, I've completed the game, and even though new puzzles are available via download, the game has no replay value at all. I respect your effort to spread the word about this great game, but it might not be for everyone.

agreed. Really isn't much to do other than trying to fool friends and family with the puzzles, which, I admit is entertaining. Truthfully, though the game was at least decent for me, I doubt I'd spend 30-40 dollars on the sequel. Chances are I'd wait for a cheaper copy.

its great, i finnished it fairly quick, some puzzles makes u feel supersmart and some ehm not so (i got zero patience:S) the visual style, cutscenes, story, cutscenes and voice overs are all brilliant as id expect from the company level 5, and its another game that is useing the ds perfectly (i like how more and more ds games use the stylus to everything, in the ds beginning it was more a gimmick and normal controls were used alot), the game is different and worth a try

i did get annoyed at music in some places and as mentioned its not any reply value BUT i play alot of games, i dont buy them to reply them, id have no life then, especially since i love rpgs and they take tons of time to finnish once...

Bump.

Even though it was a good game, I won't be spending $40 on the sequel once it comes out. No replay value. That's the downer.
