Heck no! I traded that game in months ago. Way to repetitive its a simple game...enjoyable for people under 10. IMO-Zills-
you obviously only played the first cup...it gets much more difficult later on. Sure its easy to play, but Mastering it requires skill.
As for me, I still play the game on and off...i don't play online though...too many people use characters that can transport past the goalie to score....i would say 80% of the goals scored against me are when using that specific technique. I like playing against the computer on Extreme....the AI is a great challenge and does cheat, but not as much as people online.
Don't know how it did in the US since there soccer (football!!) isn't the king sport. To me it's an enjoyable, very fast game without being confusing (however sometimes it's hard to keep track of the ball with everything happening) and that although it is simplyfied soccer (football!) it stills allow for each player to have his own tactics and dirty tricks.
I have it for months already but actually i havent focused much on the solo championship, if you bought this game just to play it yourself it probably isnt the most appealling game. Where the game is great fun is in multiplayer in a session with friends old-fashion way.
It is really cool playing online especially in co-op 2v2. However expect to learn dirty tricks from other players like all characters who can teleport doing it through the goalkeeper, fake shoots, over-pushing each other to prevent you to get the ball, etc.. It's amazing how dirty some ppl are just to get a few points, disconnecting after loosing it's a shame really.
I think Nintendo should beta-test their games online a lot more, look at Mario Kart DS for example with all that serpent-like racers. However i have to admit that the game itself teaches this move to beat all the time attack like races.
