You don't need to show ID to trade in a game. I'm not sure if the same applies to trading in a game for cash, but when you trade it in for store credit you don't need any ID, even when you're getting rid of an M-rated game. You only need an ID or your parents if you're purchasing an M-rated game or participating in a tournament you don't need your mommy or daddy. :)

Why do you need to be over 18? SHACKR
I worked in a video game store where they had to be 18 or have a parent with them just because someone under 18 can claim they are just a kid and they dont know what they are doing. We just didnt want a parent coming to the store and saying "why did you let little timmy get rid of all of his games just for this one new game?"

seems like from the posts in here different gamestops enforce the rules differently... it may be company policy for you to be 18 but maybe only some stores enforce it. Just like when I worked for the photo lab in walgreens, we wouldnt let you print out professional pictures without concent from the photographer (because it was company policy) but many of the customers just went to the walgreens down the street and they did it without thinking twice.
