Particularly from the VC? I guess 25 years of physical media centered gaming leaves an impact on what is considered 'property' or 'owned', huh?

Sure. It may not have physical form, but since it's paid for and can be accessed at any time, much like a physical copy, I don't see a reason why you shouldn't count digital games as part of a collection.

Yes I include Digital downloads for all my systems but for some reason Gamespot doesn't count VC titles as Wii, Wii U, or 3DS titles; I usually have to add those up seperately. But some when it is bundled I even count each game seperately since they are usually on seperate discs or is a seperate download.

No, I don't. I regret buying Darksiders 2 digitally from the eShop. I want the physical copy, but I couldn't find it anywhere so I just got the digital version. I like to have my games on my shelf, because to me, it just feels more valuable. Plus it looks cool. Then again, I'm a little bit into collecting games.

Well it's normal for people to count them... they pay the same price etc
but for me it's the opposite way... I never ever buy digital games, only hard copies and I'm never selling or trading them.

As a PC gamer, most of my collection is digital. So yes, I do.

Not really though I should start. I've got plenty of digital games for my PS3 now and my 3DS has a bunch too; once the Wii U gets more digital ocntent I could see myself getting lenty there as well.

Yes and no. I count my digital and retail collections separate for Wii. My PSP collection is a 50/50 split between digital and retail. I count my 3DS collection by what I can display, so I need to do something about Fire Emblem. :P

Imagine you have 3 hard drives all with 500 games installed in all of them. I wouldn't call that a game collection unless I see stacks of game cases with booklets, cartridges or cd's inside
