I have my Wii sitting right next to the window standing up right. I always close the blinds but somehow under the blinds lots of sunlight shines through.

During the day I see lots of sunlight on my Wii for hours and hours, could this possibly effect my Wii in anyway?

The worst the sunlight could do is break down the plastic in the Wii's case. Eventually it could get brittle and crack, but that would probably take twenty years. Since the Wii's white, sunlight probably isn't making it very hot. The main problem people say they have with sunlight and the Wii is that sunlight can interfere with the Wii remote's pointing function because sunlight contains infrared light.

So it is safe to let the sun shine on it? Because sometimes the heat can get quite intense.

Check the manual if there is something about temperature.
