can my american DS XL handle european current/

I want to use my american DS XL in europe, but i know that america uses 110 and europe uses 220, can an american DS XL be recharged in europe or will it fry my DS if i try?

I had to buy a transformer or whatever those things are called to charge it in my country (Peru), otherwise I think it explodes :(

Best bet is to call Nintendo an ask. Might just need a converter to use it there. I think their plug set-up is different anyways..

You will need a voltage converter, not just a pin adapter like many people think. They are around $40 give or take.
