best pokemon game?

i have a GBA and wanted to know what is the best pokemon game. i kinda want to get blue or red just for nostalgia, but i fear they may be hard to find. so should i just get one of teh newer ones? if so which one?

i know this is the DS forum, but there isnt any gb forum and thought you guys would be able to help.

Get FireRed/Leaf Green, they're remakes of Red and Blue. I'd try out one of the DS games too but if you're set against Diamond/Pearl then you should wait for the new Gold/Silver remakes.

you should get

fire red or leaf green (remakes of red and blue)

and you should also look into emerald

Well since you have a GBA, you should definitely pick up Pokemon Crystal. While I do enjoy all of the portable Pokemon games and reccomend them all, I personally enjoyed Crystal the most, so that's my 2 cents.

Fire Red has better pokemon than leaf green.

Without a doubt. If you can still find a copy that saves, this is the one to get. Or if you can't find one that saves, just wait for the remake and get a DS.

If you are looking for something to start you off right, get Firered or Leafgreen. They are both great remakes to the originals and they are faithful to the original games.

After you beat one of those, pursue Emerald. It's the best of the 3rd generation games.

If you get a DS, pick up Platinum and if you want to see why the 2nd generation is the best, get a copy of the silver or gold remakes.

crystal stopped saving for me after like half a year.

i'd go for emerald. firered/leafgreen has an aged feeling to me.

GS was definitely the best because they were the longest and most fun by far.
