I have 360+ hours in my Diamond file. I'm not getting rid of all that whenever I want to play through it again. I'm buying Platinum pretty much just for that purpose.
Yeah, I enjoyed Pokemon Pearl but either my mom or sisters lost it when they cleaned my desk..... so now instead of buying Pearl or Diamond again I'd rather wait some more and anticipate then buy Pokemon Platinum once it comes out.

As far as Pokemon DP go, that's not a lot. I've seen videos on Youtube of people with 1000 hrs. :o

I clocked 800+ in Emerald :| and have over 400+ in Diamond.
EDIT: And yes, I will be getting Platinum. The only game I have skipped is Pearl (yes I have always gotten every version before this generation).
Undecided. It depends if there are other games I want more. If I don't get it, this will be the first generation in which I haven't owned 2+ of the games
No i don't think i will unless they change alot of stuff. Diamond and Pearl were a very big let down to me...especially after the amazing Ruby and Saphire.

Thats not that much for a Pokemon game. I have 352 hours on Pearl. And I will be getting platinum :)
yup of course, i starting playing since the first generation. right now, i'm kinda wishing that they would release a new classic edition with the original 150 pokemons
Diamond and Pearl didn't satisfy my expectations, not because I had high ones, but because I know they could have done better after how long this franchise has been running. For me, and no pun intended, they didn't evolve the franchise much beyond the basics we have already become accustom to. I traded in Diamond after beating it, I just didn't get into it. I do miss having a Pokemon game though, just doesn't feel right while owning a Nintendo handheld. I will most likely buy Platinum, but I am sure I will feel the same way as I did about Diamond and Pearl, only maybe slightly less with the added content.
lol... with all the good stuff coming out, i doubt. im talking ff4, disgaea, and all that stuff SQ is producing.. Dragon Quest and stuff.. and FFTA2 that just came out, i really dont see how PKMN will actually make it anymore, unless they really put in some effort and make a major change, and not just a graphic make over..
Diamond and Pearl is really just a graphical make over from the previous serious.. i mean, cmon, we are in the DS era now... and i still feel PKMN blue and red was THE best.. they are not targeting us older generation that actually played RED and BLUE.. they are still targeting the younger children, that we once were. its almost like how winning eleven is LOL..
Probably.If the franchise continues in the direction it's apparently following,Platinum will be my last Pokemon game.Either that,or I'll just purchase Diamond if I'm too lazy to wait; the extra features aren't that important to me.
