Useless for almost all the users. I don't see Nintendo catering to less then 1% of the users.Jaysonguy
Not necessarily. An instant message feature at least would help with planning online games with your friends. The Wii Message service takes far too long to be effective for instant gaming plans.
"That's what telephones and instant messengers on computers are for. Why ask for Nintendo to create something we already have easy access to?"
I'm glad you asked, Jason. First, not everyone has an instant messenger, and they're definitely not always near it. Second, because I don't want to call or text someone when he might be busy, just to ask about playing a game. And finally, because I only want to bother one of my friends if I know he's already playing the Wii. With a Wii instant messaging service, my friend would get a flashing blue light immediately when I send a message. He can then respond right away, and we can start playing then and there. If he doesn't respond, I know he's not available.
This isn't just hypothetical.... I've had to call or use text messaging with my brother whenever I want to play Guitar Hero with him. And that's only if I know he's online via my friend roster. But even then, I only know when he's online with Guitar Hero, not when he's simply using his Wii. That's another thing that would be nice - an indicator to tell you which of your friends are currently using their Wiis.

That would be awesome.
ya thatd be sweetAgreed, perhaps with Parent Controls so that parents can 'protect' their kiddies!
It would seem to make sense that Nintendo would release something like that following the closing of the Nsider forums, but like JordanElek said we also need a system like on the PS3 or 360 where you can tell when your friends are online and things... saidly I don't think we'll see that untill nex generation at the earliest.
