3DS XL Question

Okay, so you know how the 3DS XL has a SD card? Well, I want to know if it has all your game data, steps, Play Coins, etc. on it. The reason I'm asking is because my 3DS XL has dust under the top screen and it has been bugging me. It's under warranty and I don't know if they would fix the top screen, give the money back or give me a new one. And I do NOT want to lose ALL of my game data and other stuff. By the way I don't have any downloaded games.

@Jaysonguy Thank you. Can you take the SD card out? Because that has nothing to do with a top screen. By the way, does all the game data, Play Coins, steps, etc. go into the system memory or SD card?
