Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze first and foremost. It's a very strong sequel to one of the greatest platformers ever created (Donkey Kong Country Returns) and offers more challenge and content the most other games on the market. It' most likely going to end up being my game of the year especially since it's topping the original which I consider the best 2D platformer ever made. I sincerely cannot praise these games more. If you like platformers at all, this is the cream of the crop.
I'd also recommend Pikmin 3. It hails from one of the most unique series in gaming (one of my all time favourites) and offers an enjoyable adventure that's been designed for speed runs with leader boards. There's also an extremely well designed challenge mode to put your skills to the test. If you're in to challenging yourself and getting high scores, this game will last you a very long time.
Super Mario 3D World is a very solid 3D platformer that shouldn't be missed. The level design, creativity, and challenge may not be as strong as what's found in DKCTF, but it's still very VERY good. There are also a lot of levels to keep you busy.
Those would be the big three IMHO
