no, they are totally different. If you are in need of a DS charger, you may try specialty game shops such as EBgames, or Gamestop. I am not sure regular retail stores sell DSphat chargers, as the original DS is becoming obsolete.
yeah the DS phat charger is much bigger the DSL is smaller so the only way u could probaly get a DS phat charger would be going probaly to gamecrazy or gamesstop becouse the ds phat charger is getting pretty dang hard to find well good luck;)
