Time for a good ol' fashioned, Battle of the Bands! Which game do you prefer? Guitar Hero, or Rock Band? Why?

I like playing on a controller, so GH

But I like the breakdown so far. It shows that GH is for underage girls... :D

Rock Band became the superior series for me once Guitar Hero started introducing other instruments to keep up with Rock Band. Guitar Hero World Tour did not feel as polished as Rock Band 2. The best thing about Rock Band is the DLC selection and the fact that songs transferred over to future games. Guitar Hero tried to do that, but not very successfully.

Also, the note charts were better in Rock Band. They may have been less complicated than those in Guitar Hero games, but Guitar Hero inflated its difficulty by adding extra notes into songs instead of tightening the window in which notes could be hit.

Rock Band is the better game. Guitar Hero has the better stock track list.

I am probably going to get an iteration of Rock Band to learn guitar.

Neither.

They are both boring games compared to Rocksmith

@GameSpot: GH. The original guitar for Rock Band was horrible, and the songs were terrible. GH was harder and had the better tracklist. Talking about original Rock band vs GH 3-5.

Harmonix was the original developer of Guitar Hero, but since Activision held the rights, when they parted ways, Harmonix was left in the cold and thus created Rock Band. Old news. But I loved Harmonix's game design for Guitar Hero II and the Rock Band games. Rock Band takes this poll, primarily because of the fun factor, great song lists that could be ported to the next game release, and the great design Harmonix put into their products. But I agree with those who have commented that Rock Band guitars were horrible, not built well and would break after a while.

Rockband hands down is the best.
