Shadow Of The Colossus - The whole game, though the final Colossi stood out as being the most epic.

Silent Hill 2 - Pyramid Head

Resident Evil 4 - It

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - The End

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty - Solidus Snake

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops - Metal Gear RAXA

God Of War - Aries

Spoilers, probably.

My favourite boss battle ever would have to be the enormous final boss from Serious Sam.

He wasn't particularly difficult, but the build-up to the fight, running away from him as enemies swarmed you from all over, was incredibly well done. Plus, he was HUGE. Probably the biggest boss I've ever seen in a game.

Baldur's Gate 2 had a well-done boss battle as well, since it wasn't just a fight - it was an entire little gameplay sequence with puzzles and some cool bonuses.

Planescape: Torment and Fallout get nods because you could outsmart the boss instead of fighting them. Seriously, how can you argue with convincing the final boss to kill themselves?

Yoshi's Island's final boss was great too, and gets bonus points for introducing a new game mechanic at that point just so you aren't rehashing stuff you've already done.

wow - Heigen

wow - Thaddius

wow - The Four Horsemen

wow - Loatheb

wow - Nightbane

wow - Grobbulus

wow - The Big Bad Wolf

wow - Magtheridon

wow - Nefarian

wow - Hakkar

This is from a priest's point of view. Destroying the overmind with terrans and protoss units was pretty cool. Most FF bosses are great, but it's nothing compared to fighting a boss in wow.

Coming from a Priest POV...I noticed you didn't write down Patchwerk lol (I was a resto druid). Gotta agree with you though, some of the Naxx battles are insanely intense, especially those that your raid is about to die and you somehow avoid that 1% wipe with a single cast of a wand or something. Man I miss the good times. Being in a top North American guild was one of the best times I had in WoW. It ruined my life though.

Patchwerk was a pretty intense fight and I thought about putting it in, but I didn't have as much fun as when I was fighting those other bosses.

Also, I should've put onyxia at the bottom of the list, since I pretty much was the only reason why the raid didn't wipe (yes, I was helping lowbie guilds). It was a pretty cool feeling when I killed onyxia with like 2 people alive.

I'm glad I didn't screw up my life like my friends by being in our server's best guild. I was only raiding like 4 days a week even though every member was supposed to be able to play EVERY NIGHT, so when the raid was full, I went to my friend's house. Hopefully, the raid was full pretty often so I could go to my friends house without getting kicked out :)

I have only two. The last boss on Final Fantasy III forgot his name, and General Raam on Gears of War on insane without the block glitch.

The boss battles in Painkiller were awesome !

The bosses were freakin huge (possibly the biggest i have see on PC) and on higher difficulties, a real challenge

Note : Unfortunately, I havent had the luxury of owning/playing console games so my opinion is based solely on PC games

For me, absolutely nothing can top the battle at the end of MGS3 between The Boss and Naked Snake. (Big Boss) Especially the moments after, had a genuine impact. Truly memorable in a way few gaming events can be these days.

The End from Metal Gear Solid 3 - I dunno. Crawling around the jungle, hunting for food, running and screaming like a little girl when the view cut to The Ends scope looking right at me. It was just awesome. A sniper showdown makes for an awesome boss battle... who knew?

The Strider Showdown at the end of Half Life 2: EP2 - It was just for frantic trying to keep track of where they all were. and running down Hunters in the roadster is just gravy.

Darth Sion from KotoR II - Especially satisfying when you fight the dark way. "Keep getting back up Sion, so I can keep striking you back down." Loves it.
