The rest are extremely lame due to story/setting/enemies but the remainder; RECV, RE0. Couldn't finish RE0 because of a bug phobia, but it was lame anyways- gameplay was awesome though.
I love RE4 but I hardly consider it a RE, I'm an old school RE fan and have been playing since RE1's launch day.
RE4 is an awesome game and it can stand on its own but it cannot stand side by side with the previous RE games. Anyways, here's my list and I'm just going to do the main series.
2. RE2, I am very impressed with the AB scenarios, makes RE2 worth playing over and over again
3. RE0 Great graphics, the team system is hard at first but then it's awsome once you get used to it, could have done more with the training facility though :(
And I've been a fan of the series since near the beginning. The gameplay in RE4 just can't be beat, no matter how "un-RE" it is.

Even not as a RE game, RE4 is still a poor game. The gameplay isn't that sound, the aiming is slow and awkward, you can't walk and shoot at the same time, or strafe. If capcom wanted to turn RE into a shooter they should have done it all the way. The old Resident Evil games aren't shooters, so i don't expect them to have a solid shooting system. The old RE camera and controls work for the type of game it is. But RE4 a game that heavy action based should have better controls.
And I've been a fan of the series since near the beginning. The gameplay in RE4 just can't be beat, no matter how "un-RE" it is.

I didn't like the controls and stuff either in RE4 a first but it didn't take long for me to get used to it all.

If you say so. I was happy buying it three times, beating it around 15 times, and playing the hell out of Mercenaries mode.
Even after buying and playing RE4, I still cannot think of it as a true RE game. It does not have the "Survival-horror" feel to it. It was more like one of those mainstream action games like every other game out there not. Anyway my favorite RE games are: RE1 remake, RE 2, RE 0, RE 3, and I also liked the Umbrella Chronicles for the Wii.
yay my first post hahaha I live to play the old school RE games I love the camera, the fighting, the puzzles but most of all the controls, and the maps are absolutely amazing!! just look at RE1 when it came out. No game could boast such great visuals on such a massive scale. The only thing I don't like about the old style is the inventory system but it'll do!! favs in order from best to least best(there is no worst) 1) REmake 2) RE2 3) RECVX 4) RE original 5) RE3 6) RE4 7) RE5 I like RE4 and RE5 but I don't like them nearly as much as the originals!! to be honest the only reason I played them was because they were RE games but in saying that RE4 was a fun game, RE5 was meh
You have no idea how much I love barry. Theres a video on youtube about barry called something like What the hell is wrong with barry, funny as hell, make sure you watch it till the very brilliant ending.
